About Dr. Daniel Edwards, PsyD
Welcome! I’m a licensed clinical psychologist who graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2008. I’ve had a private practice for over 13 years and have also worked in hospital, community, and college counseling settings.
I’m a generalist, which means that I can support clients struggling with a wide-range of issues. I specialize in helping people with depression, anxiety, family and relationship issues, career and workplace challenges, grief, and post-traumatic stress. I have worked extensively with LGBTQ+ clients on relationship and family issues, transitioning, gender identity, sexual orientation, and polyamory/alternative relationship structures.
I currently offer video chat sessions for clients living in Illinois and Michigan. I have also practiced in Paris, France and can offer support to people living abroad, as well as those who have moved to the United States.
I am in-network for Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. I will provide you with a “superbill” if you wish to use any other form of insurance on an out-of-network basis.

My approach
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I will work collaboratively with you to identify and better understand the challenges you are facing as well as the strengths and supports you possess to address those challenges. I have seen firsthand how this exploration can lead to the changes that people desire in their lives.
I specialize in existential/humanistic and psychodynamic psychotherapy, integrating elements of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques. I have extensive experience with college students, artists, lawyers, healthcare and tech workers.. I also have international experience and would be a good fit for clients who travel but want a consistent therapist.
If you are interested in working together, I offer a free, 15-minute consultation, which you can book below.
